How Project RED Signature Districts Propel a Student-Centric 1:1 Program

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Much of the 1:1 research and practice says that a truly transformational program is one focused on the student. This requires shifts in planning, teacher practice, and the classroom dynamic. Project RED Signature Districts will share how their planning and PD pair with technology tools that simplify the teacher experience and give more opportunities to students to be involved in their own learning. Learn their models and ways that tools such as DyKnow software, LMS, Web 2.0, and others encourage interactive learning and collaboration. Designing and implementing a student-centric curriculum is half the battle - sustaining it is just as important. Janna Elfrink, Technology Specialist at Reeds Spring School District (MO), and Heather Bender, Director of Educational Technology at Huntsville City Schools (AL), will share their practices, experiences, lessons learned, and results that have gained them national recognition. Michael Vasey will add examples from other schools globally as well as moderate an interactive Q&A with presenters and attendees. For an optimal experience, attendees should bring an Internet-connected tablet or laptop.
