Backchannels are a teaching tool that can help shy students to become enthusiastic collaborators, provide a space to capture discussions and for students to ask questions and collaborate across and outside the classroom without interrupting class time. In this hands-on workshop using a tool called TodaysMeet, participants will learn how to implement a backchannel and discuss its pedagogical uses, considerations, and potential in the classroom to promote student voice and support learning goals.
